Hebrews 12:2

(The song says I’ll never know how much it costs.)   Todd White says we need to know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Never really thought about it that way before. Scripture says that he was unrecognizable. So even in the movie The Passion of the Christ you still see the resemblance of a man but, he was unrecognizable.   My self I can’t imagine seeing someone beat so bad that he was unrecognizable.

The Lord comes to you and he says, give me back all my stuff and you look at him and you say what are you talking about?  what stuff? I already told you to give me back all my stuff.  This conversation goes on for a minute or so. You're frustrated you don't know what the Lord is talking about and then he asks you again.

Give me back all my stuff. You're literally on your knees weeping.  What are you talking about?  what stuff?  Will you just tell me what you're talking about? Then he says it…… the anger, the lust, the depression, the worry, the fear, the lying,  the resentment, the rejection all that stuff. It's mine it was never yours. I died for it I'm the one who paid the price for it not you.

Now you're beginning to see.  All this time you have been resurrecting this stuff and it never was yours in the beginning.   You just start to weep…… you're on your knees just weeping.  The Lord taps you on the shoulder and says look at me. Put the stick down I love you. Do you have any idea how much joy I have in my heart?   I was on that cross taking all that away from you. All the negativity gone.  Remember you are a son …   you are my son.
Hebrews  12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
