Hebrews 11:8

Part of the devotion this morning says "have you been to asking God what he is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what he is going to do. He reveals to you who he is."

Will you go out and surrender to him until you are not surprised an adom at anything he does? Oswald Chambers

11:8 By faith Abraham acknowledged the 1call of God which gave him his identity and destiny, as evidence of his inheritance as he journeyed into the unknown. (The word, 1kaleo, means to call, to identify by name, to surname.)

So when I'm praying this morning I asked the Lord to give me a word for 2018. My wife and I have been talking about this for several days. So in the middle of my thought process before I can finish the question in my mind I hear the word "commitment"  my first thought is the obvious one ......  my relationship to my wife.

The longer I sit here though,  the more I think the word commitment is about my identity in committing to who I am as a son.

Thinking about that passage from Hebrews.   How many times do I acknowledge the call on my life that the Lord has put in front of me. Walking as a son seeing myself as he sees me.

Believing who He says I am!
